Elon Musk - Cancer Season
Elon Musks' Astrology Chart Reading
Below, I will get into the Cancer archetype, Elon Musks public history, and then give a shortened astrological chart reading analysis.
Why Elon Musk? I find him a very complex character --whether good or bad, nobody truly knows his full intentions. He is also a very interesting Cancer, as many thing Cancer stands for..doesn't seem to quite fit him. I personally love choosing controversial and complicated public personalities to analyze, so that I can show you how with the tools of astrology, you can decode why someone is the way they are and how their astrology sign manifests through their chart.
Cancer Archetype
Cancer is the 4th sign of the zodiac and rules the 4th house of the home in an astrological birth chart. This also points towards our roots and heritage--think of the Russian wooden nesting dolls that stack within each other, this is Cancer (the ruler of the womb). Some astrologers will talk about how in some ancient texts, Cancer was known to be the first sign of the zodiac wheel, rather than Aries. This points to how Cancer is the start of all creation (the womb) and all things we must nurture to birth it into existence, which points to Cancers' creative daimon (or will).
This can explain why there are Cancers out there who do not become a mother or a father, but instead, choose to nurture their creative passion into fruition throughout their lives. Where becoming a parent is the most prevalent route for a Cancer, not all choose it (and the ones that don't, are sometimes those who have created security within themselves through their creative passions). Through researching different viewpoints of the shadow complexes that Cancer deals with, I have found one of Cancers shadow traits to be that there could be smothering of one of their children in an attempt to avoid the individuation process of their emotions. There could be an unconscious threat to that of a Cancer parent, that if their children become too independent or change too much, it becomes a death to their creative process. This is strangely more seen through a Mother/Son dynamic, perhaps the Mother uses the Son as a protector of their emotional containment (but there are many other reasons this could be). This could also be the over-protective mother of a daughter who manipulates the daughter to remain in her grasp. This isn't mother specific though, as I have read through the charts of woman whose father was a Cancer and also wouldn't allow them to "leave the womb" either. What I am trying to get at here, is that the search for Cancer is ultimately overcoming their emotional individuation process--and that it can come through many different forms but must be from some sort of creative nurturing process.
Cancer is the first water sign, which means it is the most infantile in how it understands its' own element. Where the other first elemental signs such as Aries, Taurus, and Gemini are also learning how to individuate and harness their element in a mature manner, Cancer is no different. There is a strong desire to learn how to become secure in their own emotional landscape, but this desire doesn't come without challenges, as they must go through the hero journey to get there. Cancers are known to be suspicious, easily hurt, touchy, moody, negative, overly cautious, manipulative, and use self victimization. But when they are in their higher octave, they will be sensitive, nurturing, sympathetic, imaginative, emotional, intuitive, maternal, and yield a good memory. It is normally a process that happens to Cancer where they must rely on their own emotional landscape to navigate a turbulent life situation where they come through to truly understand what needs to be birthed creatively inside them. And when they project their creative potential onto solely another human (their offspring), they are delaying this process and potentially hindering their children's ability to individuate themselves away from the mother or father.
Cancer is the sign of the crab, which is a very protective creature against its' offspring and home. Crabs will not hesitate to pinch or snap with its' claws if it gets provoked, however, it will also (and more often than not) hide in its' shell if it senses a predator nearby. This shows the dynamic between how Cancer defends itself. Some people may think Cancers are entirely soft and easy to push around like that of a Pisces, but Cancers are actually quite snippy if you threaten their home or children--unleashing unregulated emotions of defence to those who do. As Cancers are very intuitive people, they know exactly what to say to stab you where it hurts. But again, in order for them to get like this, they need to be pushed into a corner first or feel their security is threatened.
Cancer is a cardinal sign, which means that it comes as the first sign into a new season. Cancer kicks off the Summer Solstice, which means it's initiating us into a new seasonal terrain. Any cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), are natural born leaders. You will regularly see them in positions of power due to their ability to take charge and lead a team. It is funny that most people think Cancer woman are born to be "stay at home moms", but, I know several Cancer woman who are career orientated woman who are ALSO a mother.. and this points towards their natural ability to want to take lead. However, you will find when they are in the home, they will be the ones still cooking, cleaning, and performing domestic activities as it's in their astrological make-up to do so (nurture).
The placement of Sun (OR MARS) in Cancer for a male is quite a hard placement. I have personally met many men who have this who struggle (or have struggled) with mental health and lack of an ability to stand up for themselves or be assertive in ways that are not overly-emotional. Regardless if this is perpetuated or not through societal standards, there is a natural friction with this sign and the male dominating hormones--and there are other signs where you see this with females in a male dominating sign (like Aquarius). The natural feminine inclination through the symbol of the moon (Cancers ruling sign) is the divine mother archetype. The ruler of our emotional and inner landscape. So a born male with outward male hormones such as testosterone may feel their masculinity is suppressed and hard to access at times. This can cause negative manifestations such as drinking/drugs, excessive video game use, cheating, gambling, or other escapism tendencies to self sooth these frustrations. The well integrated Cancer males that I know have likely gone through a deep loss of some sort because of their refusal or denial to confront this internal conflict--which has then led them to accept their large emotions rather than suppress them. Through healthier outlets like music, art, or spiritual practise, they can find ways to move through and process their higher emotions and come to a place of acceptance--that they may never be the "hard warrior" archetype and that their gift is that of compassion, creativity, and softness. Those have been some of the wisest and enjoyable masculine figures I have come across, because there is no more insecurity in their emotions--just solid wisdom (like the King of Cups). The bonus of this placement for Males, is their ability to be very protective of their children. That is where their assertive and masculine traits will dominate.
Elon Musks' Astrology Chart:
Similar to Grimes chart, I was very interested to see how the planet Uranus or the sign Aquarius was affecting this mans' chart (being his obsession with all things technology and space travel). Right away I can see that his Mars (masculine drive) is conjunct his North Node (destiny and souls evolutional pull) is in the sign of Aquarius (the freedom lover, techno enthusiast, space obsessed weirdo). Not far off for a man that is obsessed with cultivating Mars lol!
This man is very Cancer, as his Sun, Ascendant, & Mercury are all in Cancer. He also has mainly Cardinal water in his chart, but also one each of cardinal fire + air (note his no cardinal earth?). This indicates a man who acts quick on his emotions and very likely over-reacts emotionally and possibly in manipulative ways. As mentioned a lot this month, Cancers feel threatened by others leaving them. It makes them feel not needed. And in order to keep people around, sometimes there can be emotional manipulation. It's a Cancers need that they must be taking care of others, and without that, sometimes they can't find their own emotional security. They need a project, a child, a plant, a meal, or basically anything it can nurture to growth. But if they aren't fully secure in themselves, they will go at great lengths if whatever they nurtured outgrows them. They are ruled by the moon, the great matriarch. It wants to be the one who saves the day by taking care of other people. It will often sacrifice it's own needs to assure another feels at home, but will complain about how often they do that at the same time.
We see that in his emotional outbursts to situations when people move on from him. Recently, he split ways with the American Trump Administration--where he took to his X account and wrote pretty emotional reactive words about The President. Now Cancers can be very sensitive and touchy--and again they are a crab--so if you piss them off, they are going to pinch you. Think of a pinch, it's like a passive way of punching somebody in the face. Again, this is a hard sign to have for a Male, as their natural inkling to aggression gets dampened in a watery moon ruled sign.
In addition, to these placements, we can see why he has so many children. His Sun and Ascendant in the sign of the mother and children. It's also interesting how many mothers he has for his child. It reads to me as creating an empire of children. Along with his Jupiter in the 5th house of children making a square to his Mars/North Node in Aquarius (his plan to populate Mars).
We now move towards where his moon placement is. He has his moon in Virgo, another feminine sign, but instead of water, it's the 2nd Earth sign of the zodiac. Virgo struggles with perfectionism, constantly trying to make systems work better and with more efficiency and organization. A virgo moon also makes someone very devoted to service for others. Since it is the 2nd earth sign, it no longer is finding stability in itself, rather, it wants to help others create it. As this sign is ruled by Mercury (which rules the nervous system), Virgos tend to have a VERY overactive mind and highly prone to achievement anxiety. They are the main sign that I am always cautious with giving too much information to, as they will go home and overanalyze everything in their head. His Moon makes connection to Saturn and Neptune, which creates an inner tension between emotional discipline, rules, & boundaries and emotional fogginess, empathy, and group immersion. Someone like this would very much bounce between two completely different emotional processes, especially because the moon rules the chart here. His moon connecting with Neptune in Sagittarius creates a person whose emotions rely on escaping into adventure into the metaphysical world--creating a huge dreamer. His moon connecting to Saturn in Gemini, creates emotional frustration with how he communicates his emotional intelligence. It has been hindered, which may reflect his autism-- where his normal learning and communication process has been limited and is a challenge for him to overcome.
A blessing however, is that his Moon and Sun are in a harmonious sextile to each other, meaning his outer-self reflects his inner self in a beneficial way. His moon also makes a loose sextile to Mercury in Cancer--so this is somebody who has no trouble communicating their overwhelming emotions. In addition, his Moon also connects to Uranus, reigning in that Uranian personality of needing to be different than the rest and ahead of the times.
With his Moon being in the 2nd house Virgo, this makes him VERY good with organizing money. However, he also likely worries a lot about his money.
There is A LOT to unpack in this chart.. so I will stop there and move onto some upcoming or current transits for him that should be of note:
We started seeing some of his erratic emotional behaviour recently as soon as Uranus transitted into Gemini earlier this month (around the time I pulled up this chart date). Uranus is making a 1 degree off conjunction with his natal Saturn--triggering his T-Square between his Moon and Neptune. Whenever a Uranus transit makes a connection to the natal Moon, you can bet on there being erratic and surprising emotional outbursts. With it conjuncting Saturn, his structures he may have build up around his circle of friends or network (11th house), are now cracking. There is good and bad with Uranus being here. The good is that it can completely restructure your community for the good, but it can also bring chaos. Uranus is also a planet of the future and can get stuck in its idealisms. This means having this Uranus transit could make him fight for a cause for the world, even if that isn't the world the rest of the people want. We see this for his push for AI grids, brain chips, and push for electric vehicles. With Uranus being here, he likely will make these changes, however, he will be having to fight extra hard for it against a rigid governmental system (Saturn).
With Jupiter being in his own sign of Cancer for an entire year, we will likely be hearing lots about him when Jupiter crosses over his ascendant in early Spring 2026. This will be a huge year of growth for him, where he will be birthing something new into place. I intuitively feel 2026 will be when he lays the beginning official foundation for his plan to dominate Mars.
Pluto is now transitting his 8th house of transformations in Aquarius. This is where his "Mars domination" planets are, meaning, we will likely see this come to fruition within this Pluto 20 year transit. We are seeing the building blocks.. creating AI networks, figuring out how to make an electrical grid system, and electric vehicles--all of which, would all be of use starting life on a planet that does not have the fossil fuels needed.
Summary:
Whether you love or hate him, you can't deny that this man is not an important figure of our lifetime. Many people are split on if he has good or bad intentions with the power he yields, including myself sometimes. However, with my intuitive perspective of reading his chart, I do truly feel he is trying to bring us into the future out of his empathetic love for human kind. This doesn't mean it is actually good, I just find it hard to believe from this chart that he is doing this for nefarious purposes. It could be the people he surrounds himself with may not be good characters or advisors, but I believe he is trying to create a more equitable future. He has all the writings of the "Promethean Archetype" of our lifetime, if you would like to understand that more, click here. However, there are many ways to read a chart--so don't take what I have to say at face value!
