Cancer Season- Emotions Around Security
Welcome back friends to another astrological monthly report!
Last month we got into the themes and mythology around Gemini, and how they may impact the month alongside the transitting planets. I REALLY wanted to do a public figure chart last month as some of the major controversial figures in the limelight right now (Donald Trump, Jordan Peterson, Pierre Pollievre) are all Geminis. And I actually wrote a very long and in depth chart analysis of Donald Trump.. for it to have all been erased when my computer died and I didn't save!! I took that as a sign that perhaps the subject is too tense right now to be discussing these characters, and although their charts are VERY interesting to analyze, perhaps I will do it for next years Gemini season.
Lets go over some of the themes we saw last month and how they may be astrologically connected:
- When Mars and Uranus made a square, we began seeing tornadoes happening just mere miles outside of Regina, SK and the midwest states. As Mars is the planet of conflict, quick initiation, and creates an onset of a situation or event, Uranus similarly also creates an onset of surprising events (and also rules extreme weather events like Tornadoes)
- As promised, we saw Pierre Pollievre back in the limelight this month after being quiet from his electoral loss. On the full moon (June 14th), Pierre released his new podcast where he interviewed a conservative First Nations chief. The Full moon being in Sagittarius, created an opportunity to discuss beyond the pettiness drama of Gemini and more into larger themes centred around the meaning and changes happening within the country of Canada, which direction we want to move in (the arrow), and philosophical themes were discussed. There was an attempt to build a bridge between Conservative and First Nation thoughts and belief systems that talked about he focus on family first, community second, and strong value systems. This full moon was potent, as Jupiter (Sagittarius' ruling planet) was opposite the full moon and conjunct the Sun alongside Mercury (Geminis' ruling planet). So it makes complete sense that these higher and public discussions were taking place in the form of a public podcast.
- Another Full Moon story, was that this full moon happened over the planned world wide "No Kings" protest which aimed at protesting against Donald Trumps leadership in the USA. Whether this event was a planned distract (point below) or organic, it was most definitely astrologically supported--with Saturn and Jupiter being square (growth expansion tensions government), Mars and Uranus starting to square (Conflict and aggressive action tensions the revolutionary), in a Sag full moon (searching for the bigger purpose)--which leads me to my point below
- The same weekend, the "Bilderberg Group" met in Sweden to discuss depopulation and migration as well as WW3. A deep dive into the Bilderberg group will take you down the rabbit hole to it's connection to Masonic Lodges and the global elites--with the attendees being high political figures, Pfizer, Nestle, Microsoft AI, Net Zero enthusiasts, Palantir, World Economic Forum, and basically the whole gang of the "rules for thee but not for me crowd". What people aren't aware of, is Astrology is used in these high up elite circles.. Freemasons have been using astrology since the formation and will use the energy of peak astrological energetically charged dates to plan chaos and events in order to form distractions. Any astrologer could tell you that June 14th was a perfect day to create chaos and protests. And while I am not saying the people protesting aren't organic, I am saying the movement itself was likely created for a distraction against the movements of the "Bliderberg Groups" meetings in Sweden. Great resources about this group can be found from watching Whitney Webbs videos, or this youtuber that actually went to Sweden to try and check it out. This was also eerily around the time that "Elon Musk" and "Donald Trump" were having their "public media fight". Many distractions were at play.
- On a personal note, as mentioned in the previous article, there could have been a heavy focus on transportation last month (as Gemini, ruled by Mercury, is associated with transport such as cars). My partner and I had a very car themed month, with one car breaking down, me selling my truck, and our other vehicle slowly breaking down as we drove it from Vancouver Island to Regina (it's doing much better now). I found this to be a funny Gemini related incident.
- There was a LOT of chatter, and a lot of here-say drama in the social media realms. Nobody seems to know what is going on anymore and is splitting off even further in their belief systems. As mentioned in the previous Gemini article, I mention how Gemini is related to the "trickster" archetype. Where you never can quite trust them and their motivations. With Donald Trump being a strong Gemini figure (but also strongly Uranian), we saw the trickster archetype on full show.. many who followed him previously are now questioning his motivations in regards to how he is handling the immigration policies in the States and his lean towards World War 3 with teaming up with Israel against Iran. As he rallied for "America First", people feel cheated and played. The Trickster was on full display last month. But if people think they can outsmart the trickster, or, understand the tricksters true intentions or motives, they will fool pressed to find that isn't really possible. Read last months "Gemini" description part of the article to understand what I mean about the "Trickster".
- The Iranian missile attack led by Israel and aided by Donald Trump happened with Mars still Square Uranus. Signifying aggressive and surprising attacks. We will likely see another theme around this event when Mars Opposes Uranus in the beginning of November.
Now, time to get out of the chaotic Gemini season and into the nurturing season of Cancer.
Lets get into Cancer
Cancer is the 4th sign of the zodiac, which makes it the 2nd cardinal sign of the zodiac wheel. Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) are signs that like to take action and initiate (however they do so in their own unique ways). Cardinal signs also signify the start of the new season and begin on the solstices and equinoxes --making them alchemically potent signs. As Aries was about the baby of the zodiac and the start of the new birthing cycle for individuality, Cancer is the fertile water sign of conception--nurturing life in the womb before the birth of the child. After Aries, Taurus taught us to connect to our physical self and reality, and Gemini taught us to begin accumulating knowledge and information through interacting with another. Cancer is the next step of the cycle and the first Water sign of the zodiac. This makes it also in its infantile elemental stage.
With Cancer being the first of the water signs, it is learning how to become secure in its' emotions. It is definitely not uncommon (and any Cancer will openly admit this) that Cancers have a HARD time regulating their emotional states. They are incredibly sensitive souls that feel every emotions and don't quite know how to regulate them yet (and thats okay!). Because of this, the negative traits of a Cancer can be that they turn to emotional manipulation when things are not going their way. Remember, they are a cardinal sign, so they like to be the initiator.. and this can clash with other cardinal signs for how to go about this. Cancer season is ripe with fertility, as Cancer is ruled by the moon (the mother of life and the womb). It comes before Leo (the child), which makes it a potent time for trying to conceive. The busy period of Gemini has ended, the plants are in the ground and have flowered or are in the midst of flowering--and late June/July becomes a time of nurturing the fertile soil by pruning, weeding, harvesting crops, and water water watering! So therefore, it is a time to nurture our own fertile soil. It is a great month to spend time at home again, enjoying the fruits of your labour after busy and social Gemini season, creating art, being with the children (who are now out of school). Spending time in the kitchen making amazing meals with your fresh out of the ground veggies and feeding the family--these are all very Cancerian traits. It's also interesting to see that every Cancer person I know is amazing with plants, they just have an understanding with them and know exactly how to nurture them and provide their needs.
Cancer is represented by the crab in astrology. The crab is symbolic in many ways, as although is is likely to go back into its' shell when it feels threatened, it also won't hesitate to first attack you with its' pinchers if necessary. Crabs can be VERY protective of their home and their mates, which every Cancer has a tendency to be (along with their family in general). It's the main focus of what they want to protect is family, and family comes first with everything. The symbology of the crab going in its' shell when threatened is also very familial with anyone who knows Cancer people.. if a Cancer gets threatened or hurt personally (rather than on the family), they will retreat into their own world and won't come back out until they feel secure/safe. Again, a lot of this has to do with not understanding how to control/utilize the power of their strong emotions (water).
Cancer is represented by the mother in astrology as it is ruled by the moon (mother of life). Cancers are born to be nurturers on all forms, be it physically as a mother, a nurturer of artistic projects, or becoming a nurse and caring for others. However, they can also have an unconscious dark side to them if they never learned to be the mother to themselves. It isn't uncommon for Cancerian mothers to never allow their children (especially sons) to "leave the womb". They can keep their children attached to their umbilical cord and unconsciously sabotage the opportunity for growth outside of the home. Again, this trait stems from Cancers not using their nurturing abilities to take care of themselves and so they essentially outsource their children to create their security. If their children start to become too independent, it can trigger a strange biological response to become emotionally irrational or emotionally manipulative to try to keep the children at home. Especially if there is a connection to Pluto in the chart, this can create the "engulfing mother archetype". The key for Cancers in this lifetime is to create their own emotional regulation and become independent with their emotions--when done so, they will nurture from a balanced and authentic place where they do not project their emotional insecurities onto those they are caring for.
Never underestimate a Cancers strength in caring for and protecting its' family. I have read charts of those who have strong Cancer (especially when Mars is there) that will literally kill someone if they have to in order to protect those they care about. They are the most loyal of the zodiac in my opinion, they just have a lot of emotions and feel a lot, so just not very secure as an individual for the first period of their lives. As they start to move through the challenges that life brings them, and their chart progresses through the zodiac, they eventually get thrown into challenges that threaten their reliance on those around them to regulate their emotions. Eventually, they are forced to face their fears of being emotionally isolated, and its' through that period where they become a force of nature and blossom into "The Chariot" (their tarot card)-- which symbolizes determination, emotional intelligence, and navigating challenges with their strong intuition.
There is some ancient literature that points towards Cancer once being the start of the zodiac, which makes sense considering it represents all creation being in the womb. There are many different analyzations of why this changed, and many land on that we moved away from the matriarchal view of the zodiac and moved toward a more patriarchal one (Aries).
Now lets get into the important astrological dates and/or transits this month!
Uranus enters Gemini -- July 7th
Hands down this is the most anticipated transit of the year! More-so than Saturn, Neptune, or Jupiter. This transit has been built up for years in the astrology community for it being the pivotal point of moving officially into the space exploring, technological era. Not to mention, every single time Uranus has entered Gemini in the past, there has been some sort of major historical civil war (including the American Revolutionary War, The American Civil War, and World War 2)--however it goes deeper than that and you can see the themes from different cultures and countries all around the world. Gemini is our immediate social circles, as we discussed last month, and Uranus is the revolutionary, chaos, and the shit disturber. Uranus brings sudden uprooting change to whatever sign it goes through (which lasts around 7 year periods)--which will bring drastic change to our communications, transport, learning protocols, information systems, weather patterns, and how we innately get along. We already see the writing on the wall for war, and those who have been awake these past few years--have seen it moving towards inevitability. Again, we are going through major Earth BIRTH changes--we are birthing a new reality. And when we come out of this transit, the way everything was run--will never be the same. This happening during Cancer season will 100% be bringing heightened emotion with it as well. Many astrologers, psychics, and shamans have been predicting a major tsunami on the Pacific Coast to be happening at this time. I very much hope these predictions end up wrong! The astrological potency of the energy is there however, so I have been telling people to stay away from the waters in the month of July... if nothing happens, GREAT, you've just had a nice vacation away. Uranus is like a volcano in astrology--it represents natural disasters, and it being in Gemini which is also chaotic and this happening in an emotional water sign--expect the emotions to be high this month. I've seen other astrologers saying how nice it will be because Cancer is feminine and Mars has moved into earthy Virgo, but the outer planets are not being considered, and this will not be a calm month... Tend to your home and families and again, take that vacation to the inland (JUST INCASE)(NOT SAYING IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN FOR CERTAINTY).
Mars in Virgo
Mars recently just went into the sign of Virgo after reeking narcissistic havoc in the sign of Leo twice this year. This will be a change of energy from ultra fire to more earthy.. it will also help us all direct our energy towards organizing whichever house in the chart Virgo is in. Virgo helps us to create the routines we need to take care of ourselves and others, however sometimes it can be a little too nit picky. Watch projecting your own routines and way of organization onto others, and rather, put this energy into your own life. As Mars can indicate intense macro events, watch out for anything related to health matters!!! This is not a time to avoid your health routines, make sure your eating a nutritious diet, taking care of your immune system, finding ways to destress, and getting daily movement. The energy is there for sicknesses to run rampant if these things are ignored, so don't avoid it!!
Mercury enters Leo--June 27th
With Mercury bringing up all our emotions through conversation while being in Cancer, it will now enter bold and confident Leo. Emotions may have felt hard to control in your conversations with others, but it is good to have these sorts of transits to be able to vocalize where we aren't feeling secure in our emotions. In Leo, expect yourself and others to speak with more confidence, fire, and with your/their hearts wide open. Leo is not afraid to express itself. And up until Mercury goes retrograde (July 18th), you will be able to tap into this energy through your conversations. Look out for talking TOO much about yourself, as egos may be higher at this time. Use this energy to tap into what parts of yourself need work in expression, rather than gloating about how good you are!
Venus enters Gemini --July 4th
The Venus in Taurus transit was sadly not the transit we would normally have had in less tense times. There were far to many hard aspects that got made during this time period, including the tense Venus Pluto square that started it off! Relationships were much more intense rather than enjoyable and peaceful, money/finances felt scarce, and there was plenty of fear around relationships and trust issues in general. As Venus in Taurus is meant to be the most harmonious placement (as Venus is Taurus' ruler), we will have to wait for the next transit next year to experience it in it's higher state. So with Venus entering Gemini, things shift now to socializing in our relationships. Things may feel lighter, but also more flighty. Gemini is the trickster, so white lies may be a theme in your relationships. However, this transit will help us to communicate better within our relationships (but only until Mercury goes retrograde, where things will get difficult again). Watch your finances, as Gemini energy is very scattered and it will be easy to overspend.
RETROGRADE MONTHS**
Neptune goes retrograde -- July 4th
Saturn goes retrograde in Aries-- July 17
Mercury goes retrograde in Leo--July 18th
New Moon in Cancer--June 25th -- LARGE and PASSIONATE emotions
We will be taking a dive DEEP into our psyche and ancestral emotions. This new moon conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer, making emotions overwhelming, while also making an inconjunct to Pluto in Aquarius--unearthing emotions we may have ignored or not been able to tap into properly. We likely are feeling frustrated with things in the past and feeling the difficulty and confusion of growing into the selves we want to become (new moon with Jupiter squaring Saturn and Neptune). We keep getting these touch and go actions over this year, where things move forward.. but then backwards again. This is due to the Saturn/Jupiter square that keeps happening. Jupiter wants us to grow and Saturn keeps halting this process and holding on to the old. A lot of this frustration that we see in the world and the people around us, are from this feeling deep down (and obviously world events). How can you not feel tense when friction between growth and stagnation just KEEP happening. However, Jupiter will finally keep moving further and further away from Saturn (for at least 3 years), so we will soon be able to step into the growth we have been trying to achieve. Tend to yourself this new moon and tend to your home and family. Rather than take out your unsettling emotions out on another, sit with them. It's okay if you aren't feeling right, if you feel heavy and down, if everything in the world is impacting you more than you feel it should. Allow it and don't worry or overthink about it (Mars in Virgo). Rather, tune into your health routines and body. Do a yin yoga practise and stretch into the parts of your body you may be holding emotions (**hint..the hips). Do some deep breathe work, take a bath or go to the lake and swim in water so the water can hold your emotions. Drink PLENTY of water so your body can process the emotions and let them flow. With the connection to Pluto on this new moon, try not to act from a place of fearful emotions. With Pluto being involved, once you start.. you may explode. Emotional regulation and creating security for yourself will help avoid conflicts with others.
Full Moon in Capricorn -- July 10th
Cultivating security. Our drive, emotions, and wants are motivating us to move towards cultivating security...while the overall direction of global energy is pushing us towards letting go and moving on. While this full moon doesn't have as much as an intense energy as the last ones have been, I still wouldn't underestimate it based on the amount of retrogrades, recent major outer planetary changes, and the fact that we are in Cancer season. There may be a lot of panic and talk in the air about security.. security of the countries and the security of your situations. So many right now are worried about their security already, so with this full moon it is really going to highlight it. But with Mars in Virgo making harmonious aspects to it, we are going to try our hardest to create it as best we can do... Remember, we are not out of the woodworks yet! We are in the middle of major birth changes, and although over the next years we will go through better times and worse times.. the overall theme is a tower crumbling while the new is built. However, there are harmonious alignments next year that will at LEAST be better than this. Remember, we are in a 9 year. This is the year of crumbling, the year of the snake (shedding. So yes, we can try to create as much security as we can, but in the end, we are going to have to let go of a lot.. especially how comfortable we have been as a nation over the past 100 years. The best advice I can give (and even what I have to remind to myself) is to strengthen your security to spirit. That is the only thing we really truly can always have and connect with our whole life, so make it strong (in whatever fashion that may be).
Health and Wellness
In medical astrology, Cancer rules the organs that nourish (breasts for feeding and stomach for eating). It's also a water element, which means emotion is a prime part of healing and importance. Not only should you treat the organs of the body, but emotions should also be treated as well--which means there needs to be an outlet on how to feel and process them. Most of us know how the gut is very much tied to our emotions. When we feel overwhelming emotions like stress, anxiety, depression, or grief, our gut gets impacted. It is also common for woman who store their emotions in without an outlet to suffer from fibrocystic breasts, and on the more extreme--breast cancer. I have noticed a huge correlation with woman who over-mother/nuture/or give to others without properly giving back to themselves and going through breast cancer.. and it is more prevalent in Cancer signs (as that is what Cancers are known for). A great way for Cancers to process emotions and nourish themselves is through listening to music, expressing their emotions through art, literally having a good cry, taking salt baths when emotions are high, and going into their "shell" for awhile if they need to. Most Cancers I know are great at cooking, and this may be because their sign is known for "nourishing and mothering" others. Making a great healthy meal with warming spices can help to nourish their gut in times of high stress or emotion. As we are all in the thick of Cancer season now, our focus should be on how to nourish both our emotional side and our guts through foods that bring full and proper nourishment. Cooking for others could bring great fulfillment at this time, especially for family.
Herbs for Cancers!
Marshmallow Root- A herb of the moon. Moistening, demulcent, and reduces inflammation in the gut. Can help if you struggle with regular bowel movements due to lack of regular water or dryness by moistening and bulking the bowels. It's nourishing and nutritious, containing minerals.
Mugwort- A herb of the moon. A warming bitter that helps move stagnant digestion, calms the nervous system and digestive tract, and in addition is a great ally for painful/bloaty/and stagnant (clots, or spotting) periods. Great for processing emotions and brings an energetic attention to the womb centre. It's meant for sensitive souls who may have trouble finding their way in between the spirit realm and reality--helps to strengthen intuition.
Chamomile - "The Mother of the Gut". This is my all time favourite gut herb as it helps to sooth digestive irritation, support healthy liver function, substantially reduce inflammation, calm the nervous system helping to sooth IBS or nervous stomach/digestion, and supports our inner child. With Cancer being the caretaker, this is a great herb to connect back with their own inner child and self sooth themselves. To make sure you are getting the good stuff, make sure to get it in it's whole form, rather than tea bags. Chamomile should actually taste quite bitter--and many of the conventional stores selling tea bags are not medicinal grade quality. If you ever have any questions about where you may be able to find it in your local city, don't hesitate to message me and I can look around for you:). Or, better yet, grow some yourself! Chamomile flowers for quite a long time if you keep pinching off the flowers for tea!!
Not a herb, but Bone Broth. Incredibly nourishing to the whole digestive system, but helps to coat the stomach and digestive tract lining if there has been any damage due to a:) poor diet, b:) long term food sensitivity, c:) too many antibiotics. Without a proper mucosal lining over our digestive tissues, our body cannot protect itself properly and can't absorb our nutrients properly. This is huge for those with IBS/IBD, as their mucosal lining is likely damaged to an extent and turns into things like autoimmune if the mucosal lining isn't present enough to protect against toxins which would normally get filtered out. Bone broth contains collagen, glycine, and glutamine--which all help to protect and sooth the lining of the digestive system. It's incredibly high in minerals, and it's a must in any gut healing protocol.
Anyways, till next time my fellow nerds! Sydney
