Grimes~Astrology Chart~Pisces Season

As I thought about whose public figure chart to use for Pisces season, my first thought went straight to Grimes! This musical-whimsical artist is the epitome of all things Pisces and Neptunian! So what a perfect person to embody the planet Neptune (especially as Neptune makes it's big transit at the end of March).

Pisces: so how would Pisces be described?

Pisces is the last water sign and last overall sign of the zodiac. It's also a mutable water sign, making it the most elusive of all the signs. The cycle through the water zodiac: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces, shows that this person has already become secure in their emotions, learned how to share their emotions with others, and now they are here to share their emotions with all beings: physical and nonphysical. It's been through the underworld and back and understands it all--in a completely beautiful but often overwhelming way. There is so much emotion flowing through these people--as if they carry the weight of the world. They understand what it's all about, but that's what makes these people feel so broken--is they don't know how to relate to the physical realm anymore. They are homesick for a completely different reality--one where there are no boundaries, rules, structure, or shackles; but instead, one that allows the flow of all emotions coming together as one. These people struggle to remain in this reality--and you can see this--in their dreamy, spacey, and lost mannerisms. Often I will notice Pisceans have dreamy, otherworldly eyes--almost like an ancient shamanic healer. In fact, Pisceans are associated with shamanic healing, as these folks have a natural keen about how they can communicate with other realms. As they are the last zodiac sign, their life almost feels like a dreamy ocean.. like they are returning to the sea before being reborn onto their new cycle. Their lives have this feeling of completion.. and they feel they can just drift through the rest of this life sharing empathy. However, this can also be their downfall to deep sorrow--as these people--often or not get taken advantage of very easily.

Because they live life like an open ocean with no boundaries, this opens the door for darker entities to take advantage of their giving and loving nature. Almost like it feeds on their purity. This can then in turn, turn them into a negative energy themselves. Because their auoras are so open, they can attract all the energies around them.. so if they are around lower frequencies, it flows right into them. Unfortunately, this very commonly leads to escapism tendencies like drug abuse, alcohol abuse, toxic co-dependant relationships, binge eating, and any other unfortunate pitfalls. They are also prone to depression and despair by feeling the weight of an unfair world. The more negativity they absorb, the more they want to just go to their dream world where life makes sense to them. They can literally live years or lifetimes in this dream world pretending that everything is okay when everybody in the physical reality sees them self destruct. It's also why this sign is heavily associated with religion. Many times, Pisceans will turn to religion as an unconscious way of protecting themselves from darker energies.. to almost purify themselves in a way. You see this with many recovering drug addicts and alcoholics, they will turn heavily to religion to use these rituals to protect them against their own destruction. In fact, this is a sign where I feel some sort of religion or deep spiritual practise is needed in order to protect themselves from psychic invasion or infection.  Often, Pisceans are attracted to music and it's very common for them to be incredibly unique and naturally talented musicians. In a way, water moves much like music. It can literally move our emotions in a way that nothing else can compare. When anybody listens to their favourite song, it can take you somewhere completely out of your present state. It's also a medium to bring people together, as you see in concert stadiums, religious ceremonies, and gatherings. A place where we can all relax and just be ourselves, a place where we can let go of our boundaries.

Pisces, ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. The new god and the god of the sea. Being lost at sea while searching for striving and understanding for higher meaning. Using the wealth inside their own being to share with others. Sacrificing themselves for the sake of mankind.

Who is Grimes?

Grimes aka Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer. Her music genre being indie-instrumental techno, and her public image being obsessed with futuristic space exploration and other dimensions and reality. A quick look at these images provided, or watching one of her music videos, gives you an example of this completely unique individual. Her most popular songs Oblivion and Genesis are what made her more mainstream, however she was known as an underground Montreal indie artist years prior to that. A quick watch of some of her interviews, you will notice she comes off as dreamy, spacey, awkward, and in a different reality. Although there is this humble gentleness to her, you'll get to know she also has some spunk behind her.

Lets dive into her chart analysis.

Alright lets get into it,

Straight away I see right away that she has no air planets, something I found odd as she is constantly writing her unique and interesting perspective and thoughts on her many online platforms like Tumblr, X, and expressing herself over video ones like Tik Tok (no I do not have that, and hope I won't have to hahaha). Not only that, but her mercury is in PISCES, which to me would feel like someone who isn't exactly one with her words. So lets look into why she is how she is without those placements.

Right away I went straight to look for any planetary connections to Uranus. She has spoken out many times about her love for science fiction and how she feels more connected to technology than the physical world. All these things being very Uranian themes. On top of that, she is incredibly outspoken on her belief systems of wanting a socialistic culture as well as speaks out on many human rights issues. A Uranian personality is also likely to go against the grain--putting authenticity above all else--while also "going it alone". Uranus in Capricorn makes a strong square to her moon in Aries, but also a square to her Sun in Pisces. The Sun and Moon being the most personal signs in the zodiac chart, indicates her Uranus is a major part of her core personality. However, Saturn which is conjunct Uranus is also making a tight square to her moon but also her Sun. Aquarius is ruled by both Uranus and Saturn, making her have a huge Aquarius influence on her personality. Since Uranus and Saturn are both in the sign of Capricorn, that creates an incredibly complicated individual.. as Uranus is about breaking the rules, while Saturn (and Capricorn) are about following the rules. By watching some of her interviews, I have noticed she is a very contradicting individual. She preaches about the positives of a communistic society, while also stating that she loves elements of capitalism (and thats just naming one thing.. there are many). Likely these placements contribute to her devouring work ethic with her aries moon giving her the fire and passion to move full steam ahead (sometimes without thinking about it first).

Now she has a stellium in Capricorn--which definitely reflects in her ability to keep moving forward no matter the challenges that come her way. She has been the topic of many controversies over the years which could have knocked her down.. but.. like a mountain goat, she just keeps climbing that hill. Likely this has a bit to do with her Aries moon.. as Aries is known to be the sign that will not give up until they achieve what they want. They go about this in a very pioneering and sometimes aggressive way.

There is an element about her that screams "dark feminine archetype". This may be indicated with her Venus Pluto opposition as well as her rising sign in the sign of Scorpio. She seems to go about getting what she wants in ways that start from "under the surface". Reading up on her rise in the music industry, she started out in the underground music scene of Montreal. She also has a darker history of going down the Persephone journey by writing a lot of her albums locked in window blocked apartment and doing speed for 2 weeks while she writes them. She has opened up about her addiction tendencies as well as a history of sexual assault which she made into what became one of her biggest known songs "Oblivion". It can be very hard for individuals who have a Venus Pluto aspect in their chart to create stable relationship dynamics. There is normally a dark part to their history surrounding an incident around a sexual theme that can sometimes distort the feminine. I once saw an interview where she stated she "didn't like to be called mother", which sort of goes along that theme. Although this makes for great music and art, it does mean a lot of chaos in the relationship realm of that persons life. From looking into her more, she has been linked with Elon Musk and has had much controversy around that relationship and ongoing custody battles with their children. With so much Plutonian energy in her chart, likely this is a two way street--as Pluto has the ability to project a lot of the problems onto others.. there can also be manipulation at play. On the surface level, her Pisces makes for a fairy-like individual that is sensitive and caring, but also prone to victimization. Combined with her Aries fire moon and Scorpio rising (both ruled by Mars), she definitely has a side of her that probably comes out in private or behind the scenes of what the public witnesses. In her early years in High School, she spoke out saying she was bullied for dressing like a goth (again very Plutonian.. and very Pluto/Venus connection).

Her Mercury in Pisces definitely is behind some of her knack for creative writing and love for fantasy novels. I saw an interview once where she said that her father used to read her Lord of the Rings every night as a child. Now her Mercury harmoniously sextiles Saturn and Uranus--where she said she grew up being taught by her father all about political science (Saturn influence).. and eventually went to McGill to study Neuroscience and Philosophy (very Uranian).

She also had a blend of unconventional but also conventional upbringing (making sense that Uranus and Saturn connect to her Sun and Moon). Her parents were very unconventional people, however her grandparents were incredibly Catholic -- something she struggled to connect to in her teenage years.

Current Transits:

I won't get too into this, but I do find it interesting with what I see is going on currently for her right now. As this year has kicked off with a long stellium in Pisces, and emphasis will be on Pisces and Aries for the next couple months, there are definitely things affecting her in her home life at this time (as her Pisces lands in the 4th house of home and the mother). It's interesting that she is currently going through a custody battle with Elon Musk and these planets are all triggering her North Node (souls direction) in the 4th house of Pisces. This means her south node is in Virgo in the 10th house of career. This could be indicating that she needs to let go of her perfectionistic tendencies on her career to focus on her home and children. I am also curious to see what happens when we move further into Aries season and it starts triggering her 5th house of children. As Aries represents war-- I wonder if this custody battle will get heated?

This is just a tidbit. There is so much in a persons birth chart that it can take hours to read through in order to get a full understanding. And you will never get a full understanding--as the research can go on and on. These are however the basics I see and I thought I would share.

Anyways I'm not one to want to obsess over the lives of public figures, but it can be the best way to teach and learn how an individuals natal chart can play out in their lives. Public figures are the best tool since we all have access to look into their information and connect the dots--seeing how these planetary placements can play out. I am thinking of making one of these every astrological month to give readers an idea how I read charts, but also a tool for you to understand how to start reading your own charts.
