Another one of my personal favourites! Vervain is full of folklore and specific ways in which is supports anxiety and stress! It was heavily used on spiritual alters in many different cultures around the world, as well as worn around the neck or planted in gardens as a form of protection against malefic forces!
Its most popular use, is for anxiety in those type of individuals that struggle with the feeling of perfectionism. For those “Type A” individuals, that just need to slow down and take a deep breath. It can be used to help rebalance somebody who maybe got knocked off their path due to exhaustion, burnout, or illness and needs help connecting back with their higher purpose. As it is nutrient dense and helps support liver clearance, it is a great herb to work with after an illness. Also great for nervous digestion!
It is definitely a womans herb! Supports breast milk production in new mothers and also used for inducing labour. It can help bring on a bleed in those who have delayed menstruation. In Chinese medicine, it is used for migraines that are due to hormonal fluctuations.
