What is a Herbalist?

Have you tried the modern healthcare route and just keep ending up at square 0? Does going to the doctors give you anxiety in how to shorten your health issues so that you can be taken seriously and fit what you need discussed in that short allotted amount of time? Have you been through the pharmaceutical rollercoaster, just to end up with more issues to deal with because of all the side effects? If you answered yes to any of those, Herbal Medicine may be for you.

As much as the modern healthcare system would like to downgrade the benefits of herbal medicine, in reality it can be the most effective way to get your health back on track. Society has been tricked into believing that there can be the magic pill to fix long term and short term health problems.. sometimes there is..but not without drawbacks. Anything too good to be true.. normally is. Herbal medicine can work very quick for acute issues. For chronic health issues, you do need to invest your time and effort into letting the herbs get into your system and work their magic.

What modern medicine doesn’t tell you, is that a trained registered herbalist goes through years of extensive medical training along with 500 hours of extensive clinic work in order to gain that diploma. Focussed on a full body holistic learning model, we learn about the anatomy and physiology of the body, the biochemistry of plants, the ancient humour model of energetics, extensive case studies, research papers, western lab work options, nutrition, and the list goes on and on. Not only do we learn about the pathologies of the body, but we gain an even deeper understanding on different channels of the body and how they communicate to each other. While modern medicine focusses on the body as isolated parts from each other, we focus on how one health issue is impacting all the other health issues. We see the body as a full functioning ecosystem.. that when one thing goes off balance.. it can create an imbalance in many other places of the body. While modern medicine aims at doing one thing (very strongly and with extensive negative side effects), herbal medicine will act on many different body systems at the same time, with minimal if not any negative side effects.

A herbalist practitioner’s ultimate goal is to get to the root of your health issues by observing your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. After thorough clinical intakes with patients, we will make a customized treatment plan consisting of daily herbal tonic formulas, lifestyle suggestions, dietary suggestions, spiritual hygiene suggestions, and any recommended lab work we may want the patient to pursue for us to deeper analyze what is going on in the body. We choose herbs that suit each persons individual constitution (weight, gender, hot/cold, wet/dry, age, ect) and we are fully trained in any contraindications that may interfere with any current pharmaceutical use. We also believe that each plant contains their own spiritual essence that can energetically transform somebodies stuck belief systems, past trauma, and personality.
