The “mother of the gut” or “the children’s herb”. Chamomile is one of my top favourite herbs as it is incredibly versatile. It has a strong affinity for calming down nervous and inflamed digestion — supporting stomach ulcers, gerd, bloating/cramps– you name it! I love this for anxiety, it makes me calm (and if you are someone with high anxiety, it normally doesn’t make you sleepy.. just feel normal). This is also an herb that people think is “meh” because they always buy the shitty box teas.. but getting it in good quality loose tea.. it is a game changer! Your mood and gut will feel awesome! It is also a strong anti-inflammatory and nourishing to the tissues. It contains anti-allergic compounds to help during hayfever season. Over time and consistent use can help reduce inflammation of the liver. Gaining traction in skincare products for being anti-inflammatory for skin and helping with skin sensitivities.
Outer and inner, you see it helping to support sensitive individuals. This is why they call it the “childrens herb”, because it soothes that inner child in us that needs extra tending. One of the first ways children manifest their anxieties is through their digestion or skin — and this herb supports both!
